Dear Members,
As we approach our next AGM on Jun 21, 2026, we are opening nominations for the Charity Board roles due for election this year. This is your opportunity to contribute to the strategic leadership and governance of the UKPSA.
Available Roles
The following Trustee positions are available for election for a 3 year term, click on the role for the full role description:
These roles are part of our staggered election process designed to ensure board continuity.

How to Apply
To stand for election, you must be a member in good standing and be proposed and seconded by two other members entitled to vote.
Candidates must submit an Applicant Statement (250–500 words) including:
Introduction: Your interest in the role and alignment with our mission.
Experience & Skills: Relevant professional or volunteer experience.
Motivation: Why you want to support the association.
Objectives: What you aim to achieve during your term.
Nomination: Details of your proposer and seconder.
This submission will be shared with the membership in the voting tool as your Candidate Statement
Role Descriptions
Chair (Charity Board / Trustee)
Purpose: Lead the Board in setting the strategic direction and ensuring effective governance.
Key Responsibilities: Chair Board and General Meetings, ensure the Board acts in accordance with the Constitution, and oversee the performance of the association.
Essential Competencies: Strong leadership, ability to chair complex meetings, and a deep understanding of charity governance.
Treasurer (Charity Board / Trustee)
Purpose: Oversee the financial management and reporting of the association.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain the Risk Register, lead annual financial reviews, ensure financial controls are effective, and prepare annual budgets for Board approval.
Essential Competencies: Financial literacy, experience in budget management, and understanding of charity financial regulations.
Lay Member (Charity Board / Trustee)
Purpose: Provide independent oversight and diverse perspectives to the Board's decision-making.
Key Responsibilities: Participate in strategic reviews, support specific projects, and ensure member interests are represented in governance.
Essential Competencies: Impartiality, strategic thinking, and experience in professional or volunteer management.
