Chair’s Update – March 2026
It is great to see the new UKPSA competition season up and running with two very successful level 2 matches kicking off the year, both hosted by Sterling Sport Club. It was great to see Hannah Mawdsley picking up a medal at the Thaw mini rifle match, and very fitting as she did it on International Womans Day. And the Ready Steady Go Shotgun match saw some of the best GB shooters start their bid for British champion. Congratulations and well done to Sterling for hosting two g

UKPSA response to newspaper enquiry
One of our UKPSA-affiliated clubs was approached by their local Sunday newspaper for comment following remarks made by a family member of a victim of the tragic Dunblane massacre, 30 years ago. The newspaper asked for clarification and context regarding practical shooting and its place within the UK sport. Below is the UKPSA response on behalf of our affiliated clubs to the questions raised about our sport: IPSC shooting, governed in the UK by the UKPSA and organised by affil

Introduction to IPSC Rifle for UK competitors
What is IPSC Rifle? Think minirifle but with a bigger bang and targets placed at greater distances, therefore creating (arguably) a greater challenge than minirifle. Rifle is primarily shot with a semi-automatic rifle, the most common being .223. There are however, two manual divisions which should be considered: MAB – Manual action bolt MAC – Manual action contemporary Both divisions are still bound to the same rules of minimum power factor for both minor and major scorin

I’m very keen to start the focus on the 2028 World Shoot. In 2026 I will publish a more detailed brief which will include the selection criteria. However for 2026, for those interested in select
