IPSC and UKPSA are working closely together to develop solutions around lead restrictions impacting our sport.
Kev Strowger (GB RD) and Julia Hilger-Ellis (GB DOPA) are now regularly meeting with IPSC President Vitaly Kryuchin and VP Friedrich Gepperth to address the challenges posed not only in the UK, but across Europe.
While each country faces its own nuances of lead restrictions, there are shared concerns—such as the use of birdshot—that are being actively explored collaboratively.
The plan is to have an EUK working group which shares information and works together.
The strategy goes beyond political lobbying through collaboration with international organisations as well as manufacturers of both ammunition and targets to identify practical, sustainable solutions for the wider EUK region.
Aligning efforts across European countries will also strengthen economies of scale and improve collective buying power.
Now more than ever, it’s vital that we work together to ensure our voices are heard across the UK and Europe—and to safeguard the future of our sport.
